Ship Smart reaches out to help and teach people understand the basic key elements of the import /export process and to help them avoid costly mistakes. The international trade, shipping and freight industry is a minefield of complex terms and conditions. Over my twenty plus years in the industry, too often, I have helplessly stood by and watched individuals and companies lose part or all of their investment/s due to a lack of knowledge about the industry.
Meet Karen
My experience in the business arena expands over 35 years covering sales and marketing, imports and exports, managing operations in the freight, clearing, forwarding & customs compliance industry in South Africa. In 2019 I ditched working the corporate environment to pursue my passion.
The drive & passion I have for service excellence, international trade and teaching, allows me to help entrepreneurs, business owners, new importers and exporters start their import/export businesses. I have helped clients grow their import or export ideas into thriving businesses, from their humble beginnings, working from their garages at home, expanding their growth by setting up warehouses & factories, creating employment and living their dreams.
Not limited to the above, as a driven expert leader in the freight industry, I consult, manage and offer advisory services on all aspects of the import/export process (forwarding/clearing/customs) for small, medium and large corporate entities involved in global trade.
Over my years in business as a senior leader and manager in the corporate environment I have managed, trained and mentored people at all levels in the workplace.
